Hello everyone! So, this week not much exciting stuff happened. We taught some great lessons, and managed to find 5 new investigators. (That’s amazing for this area) But, on the other side of things, we had (a very dismal) one investigator at church. We’re not sure what happened with the Valles family, because they’ve been there every single week for the past three months… Anyway, we’ll have to see what happened with that.
But yeah, apart from that, it’s been a pretty good week. On Friday night, we happened to drive past a member’s house and realized that there were lots of kids from the branch outside. So, we decided to stop and say hello. It turned out that they were having a birthday party for one of the men, and they invited us to stay for a little while. So, we did, and we had some amazing tacos with some of the most incredible salsa imaginable. Later that night, we were stopping by another member’s house (in the other branch) to arrange to do some service on Saturday morning. It just so happened that a woman from the other ward was also celebrating her birthday, and they invited us to stay for cake and ice cream. So, yeah. It turned out to be a pretty exciting night.
On Saturday morning we did a ton of service, helping members get ready for other parties they were having that night, and also helping Sis. Davis (an awesome lady from Peru) decorate her classroom, which is simply a cleverly disguised garage.
Apart from that, we had two great lessons last night, one with our good friend Gerardo, who has planned to stay here for a bit longer, as he is now looking for a job. He’s been to church three times now, even though we’ve only had the opportunity to teach him twice. He explained to us how great he feels after going to church, and he’s been reading the Book of Mormon and the Sunday School manual. Anyway, he’s pretty much amazing, and should be baptized within the next month or two.
We also taught a lesson to two young women who have lived here for a couple of years. They are extremely interested, and were willing to read the Book of Mormon and whatnot, but they work on Sunday… So, that makes it hard for them to get to church. Anyway, we’ll have to keep working with them. We’ve got another appointment with them tonight, so maybe we’ll be able to work something out.
But yeah, I think that just about does it for the news. Good stuff has been going on, and I haven’t had as many problems with the shoulder this week.
